Earlier this week, the well-known darknet carder site Briansclub was hacked. The hacked database contained details on 26 million stolen credit cards.
The hacked data was shared with sources who work closely with financial institutions that identify and monitor or reissue compromised cards that show up for sale on the dark web.
Buying dumps
Briansclub is one of the largest underground stores on the dark web for buying stolen credit card data. It specializes in reselling stolen cards that other cybercriminals sell on criminal forums, earning a percentage from each sale.
In 2019, Briansclub was hacked and over 26 million credit and debit card records were uploaded to the site, according to researcher Brian Krebs. An analysis suggests that more than 14 million of those cards could still be valid.
The hack of Briansclub has likely affected the trading of hacked credit card information on the dark web, says Gemini’s Andrei Barysevich. “Since the market has a major role in this trade, this may affect it for some time to come.”
The Briansclub site focuses on online credit card transactions and doesn’t offer a lot of other types of card data. The website’s banner ad for a competing card shop dubbed Trump Dumps indicates that they share the same audience, but it’s not clear whether the two shops are in fact connected.
Adding a card
If you want to add a card to your briansclub account, you can do so by clicking on the “Cards” tab. Once you’re there, you’ll be able to add your card by entering the card number, expiration date, and CVV code.
BriansClub is one of the most popular sites to sell dumps, and it’s easy to get started. The first step is to create an account on the site.
Then, you’ll be able to access the club’s marketplace and browse through different cards. Once you find one that interests you, you’ll be able to purchase it.
The data hacked out of briansclub has been shared with people who work with financial institutions that identify, monitor, or reissue compromised cards that show up for sale on criminal forums. BriansClub mostly resells cards stolen by other threat actors known as resellers or affiliates; both BriansClub and its resellers earn a (currently undetermined) percentage from each sale.
Redeeming points
Using your credit card points to redeem rewards like airline tickets or cash back for travel is usually the most valuable way to use them. However, if you’re not interested in traveling or want to save your points for a more lucrative redemption down the road, there are other options available to you.
For example, a credit card with a $500 value and 30,000 miles can be redeemed for about 1.7 cents per mile when redeemed through an airline or other service. That’s not a bad deal for your points and a much better return on investment than simply throwing them away.
In late 2019, security journalist Brian Krebs spotted that a Dark Web carding store called BriansClub, which thrives by selling stolen credit card data, had itself been hacked. The hack resulted in the theft of nearly 26 million records from the site, which is double its sales so far this year.
Creating an account
Briansclub is a popular online marketplace that specializes in selling stolen credit card data. It allows users to buy and sell fake cards, which they can then use to go on spending sprees.
The site is run by a single administrator and is reportedly uploading new batches of dumps and cards every day. It also offers a 10% bonus each time a user deposits more than $500.
However, users must first register an account with briansclub. Once they do, the account must be deposited within five days or it will be automatically deleted.
The site enables users to purchase a wide range of hacked card data, including track 1 and track 2 information, billing address, zip codes, and CCV2 info. It also allows users to do SSN and DOB lookups, as well as change their credit card PINs.
